This protest sign was created in response to the 2016 presidential election. It was brought to a few local PGH protests that winter and to the 2017 Women's March on Washington. It re-appeared after the shooting at Tree of Life Synagogue on October 27, 2018. Protesting this heinous and anti-semitic hate crime carried out on our community as well as the Trump administrations response to that event. During that time the sign was carried by Alex Falk. It stood alongside If Not Now, Bend the Arc and the Pittsburgh DSA on October 30th 2018
On November 11, 2018 the sign was acquired by the Senator John Heinz History Center in Association with the Smithsonian Institution and entered into The Rauh Jewish History Program and Archives.
The deed of gift was co-signed by myself and Alex Falk and presented to Eric Lidji the Director of the Rauh Jewish History Program and Archives.
Holding signs that say "denounce white nationalism," a mass of protesters sings in Pittsburgh as Pres. Trump and the first family visit the Tree of Life synagogue in the wake of deadly mass shooting. https://t.co/20NWyrahhT pic.twitter.com/DZgnauUVt8— ABC News (@ABC) October 30, 2018
